Raven Johnson is a native of Chicago's Southside. She frequented the "Principal's List" at McDade Classical School until 6th grade, when she transferred to Ogden Elementary School's (now Ogden International) International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. The rigorous IB curriculum was challenging for Raven and, for the first time, she struggled to achieve the high grades that she wanted. Her mother enrolled her in tutoring classes that helped supplement the material she was learning in school, so that she would be better prepared to succeed!

As a Whitney M. Young Magnet High School student, Raven was a member of The National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society. These organizations gave Raven the opportunity to participate in countless volunteer activities, including tutoring younger students. Recognizing that not every student learns concepts in the same way, she took pride in figuring out which teaching methods worked for each of them. The gratifying experience of being able to contribute to younger students' educational growth is one that stuck with her. Raven's enthusiasm for teaching continued throughout her college career at Northwestern University, as she tutored numerous elementary and high school students in the Evanston area.

In June of 2014, after 4 years of being a student of endless tutoring sessions and Office Hours, she received a Bachelor of the Sciences degree in Chemistry from Northwestern.  This accomplishment meant the world to her, not only because it meant opportunities for employment and success, but mostly because she knew how much hard work and perseverance it took for her to get there. She made a promise to herself that she would do whatever she could to help other students who may struggle academically achieve their school and career goals. She began to develop a plan to start a tutoring company of her own that would enable her to do just that, while also being accessible and affordable for families throughout Chicago.

Crystal Clear Tutoring, LLC was born of her promise in November of 2015.

Since then, Raven has made a life of guiding  the transformative learning experience of over 700 students throughout the Chicagoland area, as well as the nation. Her commitment to the development of individualized learning solutions led to the creation of Tutor-On-Demand, Jot Journals, The CCCPAS Concept Mastery System, & The Crystal Clear Online Academy in 2019, as well as Tele-Tutor &E-Learning Assist, in the wake of COVID-19.Crystal Clear Tutoring, LLC clientele boast hundreds of thousands in college scholarships, boosts in academic confidence, & acceptances into prestigious institutions.
